Maybe Who We Are Isn’t So Much About What We Do, but Rather What We’re Capable of When We Least Expect It – Jodi Picoult

Character is not measured so much by what we do, or who we or others think we are. Character is only something we can find out more about or understand when we are put through things that test us as human beings.

On a regular basis, on a normal day, we can do what we want and be who we choose to be. But when we are tested or put in front of situations we are not used to, something happens within us: our core comes out. Who we really are can’t help but come forth to sort the situation or problem out in a way that comes naturally to us and who we are deep down.
