Happy Valentine’s Day

Valentine's Day

St. Valentine’s Day, as we know it today, contains vestiges of both Christian and ancient Roman traditions. So, who was Saint Valentine and how did he become associated with this ancient rite? Today, the Catholic Church recognizes at least three different saints named Valentine or Valentinus, all of whom were martyred.

One legend contends that Valentine was a priest who served during the third century in Rome. When Emperor Claudius II decided that single men made better soldiers than those with wives and families, he outlawed marriage for young men — his crop of potential soldiers. Valentine, realizing the injustice of the decree, defied Claudius and continued to perform marriages for young lovers in secret. When Valentine’s actions were discovered, Claudius ordered that he be put to death.

  1. Thank You Lady Dyanna!!! Have a Happy Valentine’s Day! Tess and I are doing very very well. We are both very happy that I’m completely retired now and am home to spend time with her! I only take the car out for shopping or doctor appointments or to visit my sister and brother in law for a weekend. ♥️♥️♥️

Rich, my Twin Flame, hasn’t sent me a hang up call in a few years but that’s okay. I’ve been out of the dark Night for years now and so no longer have that tremendous need to hear from him and am at peace about him and everything else. Lucky for me, I’ve never been a lonely person and love my single, celibate life. Once I met him over 25 years ago I stopped “looking” of course and that is a wonderful thing !!!

Tess is now 16 years old and I am 75. Yikes !!! But I finally became what I always wanted to be … A Happy Spinster!!! 😆😆😆

I always look forward to your emails !!!

    Janice and Tess
