Suffering is not the universe’s way of punishing you. The universe does not “allow” suffering. The universe does not cause suffering. The universe does not punish you for your “sins” by making you suffer. The universe does not “allow” illness, disease, poverty, sadness, or tragedy into your lives. The universe simply is. The universe is that divine energy, that all-powerful force that creates and sustains all that is. The universe “out there” does not “allow” suffering. You – from the universe within you – create your own suffering. A harsh statement? Some will see it that way. But it’s also an opening and an opportunity for you to eliminate the suffering in your lives. You won’t eliminate the challenges – after all, that’s why you incarnated – for the fun of playing with the challenges. But you can eliminate the suffering with a simple shift in perspective. The universe neither allows nor causes your human pain and suffering. Nor does the universe either allow or cause your human joys and pleasures. You do all that yourself. You are the universe. You do it – all of it! The suffering and the joy. You are always totally free to choose one or the other. No matter what you choose, the universe does not judge you.

Affirmation: I use my awareness of the true nature of the Universe to eliminate suffering in my life.
